On March 27, 2025, the Rwandan government ended all cooperation with Belgium and Belgian organisations. This means that Light for the World, like other NGOs, must immediately cease its activities in Rwanda.
We deeply regret the consequences this has for the people we have worked with and for. We thank our local partners and staff for their commitment and dedication.
Light for the World remains committed to the global fight against avoidable blindness. We hope to resume our mission in Rwanda in the future and are closely monitoring the situation.
